Base Run

Aside from the massive coughing fit when I got home, this run was great!  (confession: I was stupidly smoking this week.  I think it was some sort of comfort thing.  I’m over it now.  Don’t fret.)

Obviously, this is good news for me because it means my body and mind are finally starting to sync up again.  My mucus production is still pretty high, but it’s sufferable and getting better by the day.  Having such a powerful illness in the summer blows.  BLOWS!!!!  But, it gave me time to reprioritize as I’ve mentioned in other posts.  Nature works in mysterious, yet plausible ways.

I’m going to cut out speedwork for a few more weeks.  I really don’t need it.  It helps, but I’d rather just focus on base building for the next month or so.  I may throw in a hill day here and there, but that’s pretty much a given in this area.  :)

Tomorrow, 4 miles, and a STEADY ramp up from there.  I would really like to have my immune system back.  :)
